About

My Paintings and Journey

Weborg Lodge Studio Original Watercolor Paintings began its life in 2002. My inspiration was the lovely film, Enchanted April. In one scene, a character is doing a plein air watercolor painting to relax and enjoy the beautiful Italian landscape. It motivated me to buy my first set of watercolor paints and begin a journey of creativity and joy. I’ve never looked back since that time.

My theme has always been creating a visual landscape where you can relax. I don’t paint city scenes. I prefer the countryside. Doing still life paintings is another passion to capture the past with its nostalgia and comfort. I hope they can give you some peace and solace.

Becoming Self-Employed

A wise man once said, “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is today.” I always wanted to be a writer. One day, I decided to plant that tree.

Realizing Dreams Come True

My freelance career began as a watercolor artist with Weborg Lodge Studio in 2002. The business has flourished. My paintings are in 36 out of 50 states and six countries worldwide. In 2009, I began my writing venture.

From Paintings to Books

Being a writer has been the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done. The independence of making your own path through life is exhilarating. It’s not without its challenges and obstacles. But at least they are the ones I’ve chosen to make. Sometimes, opting out of what society thinks is the right choice is some of the most fulfilling.

Colonel?

My husband, Norm, and I worked on a restoration project at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky for several years. Our focus was removing an old tourist bridge loaded with creosote from the natural environment of the cave. It was back-breaking work but satisfying. The reward is the return of cave-dwelling organisms. We were awarded the State of Kentucky’s Colonel honor for our efforts, hence the name Colonel Chris.
